One of Kyoto’s most iconic summer traditions is the Gozan no Okuribi, when ceremonial fires are lit on the mountains surrounding the city.
The character “Dai” appears on Higashiyama, followed by the fires of Myo, Ho, the Boat-shaped fire, the Left Daimonji, and the Torii-shaped fire. From Kawaramachi Garden, guests can enjoy views of both “Dai” and “Ho.”
