May 5th marks Tango no Sekku, the traditional Boys’ Day celebration in Japan.
One of the five auspicious seasonal festivals (Go-sekku), it is a cherished tradition honoring and praying for the healthy growth and prosperity of young boys.
In honor of this festive occasion, Tempura Endo proudly displays an ornamental samurai armor and helmet (yoroi-kabuto) in our tokonoma (alcove).
We have also curated thoughtful seasonal accents throughout our tearoom, including paintings of elegant Japanese irises (hanashobu) and hanging scrolls depicting chimaki (sweet rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves).
When you visit Endo, we warmly invite you to take a peaceful moment to savor and appreciate these traditional seasonal arrangements.
